Welcome to God's Toolbox, the Bible. Psalm one twenty six verses two and three says our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, The Lord has done great things for them. The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Do you hear that? The nations look at the people of God, and because of their laughter and joy, the nations say the Lord has done great things for them. Yes, he certainly has done mighty and awesome things for us. So today let's let go of some of the seriousness of life. Ease up on the grief. Allow yourself to laugh. Exhale and let yourself enjoy a good, hearty laugh. Here's a joke to kick it off. A little ring bearer went to a wedding, and after the wedding he asked his father How many brides can the groom marry? One his father said. Why do you ask? Because the priest said he could marry sixteen, the boy said, puzzled. How did you come up with that? His father asked. Easy, said the little boy. All you have to do is add it up like the priest said. For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer. Here's another funny, one of my favorites. An old man whose wife had died several years before went to his seventieth high school class reunion. There he met a classmate. Her husband had died several years before as well, and they enjoyed reminiscing about the old school days, dancing and just having a good time. At the end of the night, they were so happy the old man asked her to marry him. And then they both left and went home. When morning came the old man woke up and he remembered what a great time he had had. He remembered that he asked his classmate to marry him, but he didn't remember her answer. So he thought and thought and he couldn't remember, so he decided to call her. He called her and he thanked her for such a wonderful time, and he said I know I asked you to marry me, but forgive me, I don't remember your answer. She said I said yes. And she said And thank you so much for calling because I knew I said yes, but I didn't know who I said yes to. And finally, this is my favorite joke of all times. Barbara died and went to heaven, and she was sitting at the gate with Saint Peter as people were coming to enter into heaven. Then Saint Peter got called away for an errand. So he told Barbara I'm gonna allow you to be in charge while I'm away. All you have to do when the person comes up is have them correctly spell a word. And she said, Well what's the word? He said the word is love. When they spell the word love, you open the gate and let them into heaven. Then he left. She wasn't sitting there very long before her husband came. Ben, she said, Oh wow, I'm so happy to see you I've missed you. Tell me how were things? How have you been these five years since I've been gone? He said Do you remember the nurse that I hired to take care of you when you were sick? Well, after you died, I married her, and we traveled the world and had such a wonderful time, and then we went skiing. I had an accident, so that's how I ended up here. So how do you how do I get in? How does the gate open? She said Oh well you just have to spell a word correctly. He said okay, what's the word? She said Czechoslovakia. Wasn't that great? Didn't you enjoy those jokes?
